WorkZone regularly offers a series of computer skills workshops available to all members, many employment related workshops to compliment the individual services provided to clients, and a number of special events such as job fairs and employer information sessions.
Computer & Internet Skills
This two day series is designed to be taken as a group so that the learning continues from one session to the next. This series includes the following:
Computer Basics - for first-time or novice computer users to learn some basic skills about navigating around the computer. A critical skill in today's world.
Word Basics - learn the fundamentals of word processing using Microsoft Word.
Internet Basics - learn how to search for information and follow links to navigate the Internet. Necessary for online employment searches.
Email Basics - learn how to create an online email account, compose, send and receive email. Many employers now prefer online contact.
Emailing your Resume - put everything from the previous sessions together to use your email account to send a resume out.
These workshops are available to any member simply by registering with a Facilitator.

Boomers Unleashed
This 5-session series looks at the needs and attitudes of older workers as they search for employment. Explore the beliefs/myths around competing with other generations for jobs. Get some creative tools and strategies to maneuver the "Grey Zone" - that work search place between youth and retirement.
Stages of Change
This powerful session helps you to make lasting change in your life, motivating you to renew your commitment to move forward. Learn techniques in decision making, and indentifying what additional support you may need to experience success. You will develop an action plan that is unique to your situation, and that you can get excited about as you create the path that is right for you
Momentum
This three module workshop is designed to help individuals improve communication skills that will support them in their job search, on the job and in their personal life.
Topics include: goal setting, winning colors, effective communication, assertiveness, conflict resolution, and dealing with stress.
